Welcome!

Welcome to my blog! My name is Enis, aka Djela.

Motorcyclist for more than 20 years, and I have always considered motorcycling as a therapy. A therapy that has evolved over time: Simply by getting on a motorbike and riding more or less close or far; considering the motorbike as a generator of strong sensations on tracks. Finally, I am passionate about off-roading which combines the two previous ones.
Here I will be sharing my passion for motorbikes and adventures.

Streamline Your Off-Road Experience with a 3D Printed DJI RC/RC2 Controller Holder

As an off-road enthusiast and drone pilot, Iโve always enjoyed the thrill of combining my love for motorbiking and aerial photography. However, managing all the gearโespecially during rugged off-road sessionsโcan be quite a challenge. One problem that constantly nagged me was how to securely mount my DJI RC controller while riding. I wanted a solution that didnโt require adding more mounts to my bike, which was already equipped with a Garmin Zumo XT GPS.
After searching for a solution and finding none that met my needs, I decided to take matters into my own hands. Thatโs how the 3D Printed DJI RC Controller Holder was born.

The Problem: Too Much Gear, Not Enough Mounts
If youโre like me, you want to keep your setup as streamlined as possible. Off-road riding already requires a lot of focus and energy, and the last thing you need is to fumble around with multiple mounts or have your equipment in less-than-ideal positions. I needed a way to:
- Support my DJI RC controller securely during my rides
- Utilize the existing Garmin Zumo XT GPS mount on my bike
- Switch quickly between my GPS and drone controller without hassle
These were the main challenges I set out to solve with this product.
The Solution: A Custom 3D Printed Holder
After some trial and error, I designed a 3D printed holder that ticks all the boxes. Hereโs why it works so well:
- Precision Fit: The holder is designed specifically for the DJI RC/RC2 controller, ensuring a snug and secure fit. Itโs 3D printed using high-quality, durable materials, which means itโs built to last even in tough off-road conditions.
- Seamless Integration: One of the biggest benefits is that this holder attaches directly to your existing Garmin Zumo XT GPS and QuadLock mount. No need for extra mounts or a cluttered setupโjust a clean, efficient solution.
- Quick-Switch Capability: The design allows for a quick and easy transition between your GPS and DJI RC/RC2 controller. Whether you need to navigate through rough terrain or capture stunning aerial footage, you can switch between the two in seconds.

Built for Off-Road Adventures
This product isnโt just a quick fixโitโs a well-thought-out solution that meets the demands of serious off-road riders and drone enthusiasts. The holderโs stability and ease of use make it a reliable companion on all your adventures.
Available Now on Etsy
If this sounds like the solution youโve been looking for, you can check out the 3D Printed DJI RC Controller Holder on my Etsy shop. While itโs perfect for Ducati DesertX riders, itโs not exclusive to this modelโanyone with a Garmin Zumo XT GPS or QuadLock mount can benefit from it.
Final Thoughts
I created this product out of necessity, but Iโm excited to share it with others who might be facing the same challenges. Simplifying your gear setup can make a huge difference in your off-road experience, allowing you to focus on what really matters: enjoying the ride and capturing those incredible drone shots.
And as always, happy riding and safe flying! ๐ดโโ๏ธ๐

Balkan Motorcycle Adventure: Exploring TET through Croatia, Bosnia, and Montenegro

In May 2024, my friend Vincent and I embarked on an incredible motorcycle adventure through the Balkans. Our journey took us through Croatia, Bosnia, and Montenegro, following the Trans-European Trail (TET) and exploring the region’s rich history, culture, and natural beauty. In this blog post, I’ll share our unforgettable experiences and the highlights of our Balkan Odyssey.
Preparation and Arrival in Split
Our plan was simple: follow the TET, starting in Croatia, crossing Bosnia, heading to Montenegro, and finishing along the Croatian coast. However, before we could begin our motorcycle adventure, we had to drive to Split with our bikes on a trailer. In Split, we met Miro (aka Mika), who graciously kept our car while we had fun. After a well-deserved break, Miro showed us Split from above, and the view was breathtaking.

Plitvice Lakes National Park
Before diving into off-road adventures, we visited the Plitvice Lakes National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The park is a gem, with waterfalls, lakes, and forests that will leave you speechless. To fully enjoy it, you need more than a few hours. We did the E trail, which is a must-do when visiting the park.

ลฝeljava Air Base
Next, we visited the ลฝeljava air base, a Cold War relic nestled in the mountains. Built during the Cold War, ลฝeljava was one of the largest underground military air bases in the world. It’s surrounded by mysteries and intrigues, with stories of secret missions and clandestine operations. If you’re a history buff, don’t hesitate to make a detour from the TET to visit this emblematic place.

Bosnian TET and ล atorsko Jezero
Once we crossed the border into Bosnia, we quickly returned to the trail that took us to Lake ล atorsko Jezero. The Bosnian TET offered a different atmosphere, especially in the forest. The paths were great, but we had to be careful due to illegal deforestation and wood trafficking in the region. ล atorsko Jezero, a glacial lake located at 1488 meters, was perfect for a break and picnic.
Mostar and Ramsko Jezero
After 280 km on the trails, we arrived at Ramsko Jezero for the night. The next day, we headed to Mostar, crossing Blidinje Park. Mostar is a city with a rich history, and the Stari Most bridge is a symbol of resilience. Built in the 16th century, the bridge was destroyed during the Bosnian War in 1993 but was rebuilt and reopened in 2004.

Sarajevo and Konjic
We then returned to Sarajevo to meet my sister, who passed through Konjic. Sarajevo is a true crossroads of culture, where the East meets the West. The city has a unique atmosphere, with cobblestone streets with cozy cafes and bustling markets. Despite its tragic past, Sarajevo is now full of life and hope.

Leaving Sarajevo and Heading to Montenegro
As we continued our journey, we left Sarajevo and headed towards Montenegro. Along the way, we passed through the region of Jahorina, famous for its spectacular mountain landscapes and ski slopes. The road then took us through the beautiful plains of Modropolje. Here, nature is almost untouched, offering breathtaking views of green valleys and surrounding mountains.
Lake Piva and the Balkan Mountains
To conclude our sixth day of travel, we stopped at the magnificent Lake Piva. This artificial lake, created by the Mratinje dam, is surrounded by mountains and offers impressive views. The waters are a clear turquoise blue, and the setting was perfect for a relaxing evening after a long day on the road.
Encountering Wild Horses and Shepherds
In the Balkan mountains, we encountered wild horses roaming free. It was an incredible sight and completely normal in the region. We also had the most beautiful trip encounter with shepherds in the middle of nowhere. This encounter again illustrated the hospitality of the people in the Balkan countries.
Overcoming Challenges and Returning to Split
As the afternoon progressed, we were caught by the rain, which forced us to revise our plans. Our last off-road day was shorter than expected but just as magnificent. However, the bike was constantly in action on the descent, causing big stress. As there were still at least 450 kilometers to go to reach our final point, we had to reconcile the off-road part with the road part.
The return to Split was done by road and coast. The Adriatic coast is a must-see, with winding roads offering breathtaking views of crystal clear waters and dreamy beaches. From Montenegro to Croatia, every kilometer provided stunning landscapes.

Morroco 2022 – Part 3 – Sahara Desert to finish 10 days trip

My recent trip to Morocco on a motorbike was an experience of a lifetime. I had the privilege of riding my Ducati DesertX through the Sahara Desert with my friend. We followed the old Paris Dakar track, which was an exhilarating experience.
The vast expanse of the desert was breathtaking. The golden sand dunes stretched as far as the eye could see, and the vastness of the landscape was truly awe-inspiring. However, riding through the sand was no easy feat. It required a great deal of skill and focus on navigating the soft, shifting terrain. The bike would often sink into the sand, making it difficult to maintain momentum. But the challenge only added to the excitement of the journey.

As we traversed the desert, we encountered many different landscapes. From the barren expanse of the Sahara to the lush oasis of the Draa Valley, each new vista was more stunning than the last. The contrasts between the different regions were striking, and it was a true pleasure to take it all in.
One of the trip’s highlights was the people we met along the way. The Moroccans were incredibly welcoming and friendly. They were always eager to share stories and offer assistance. Their hospitality was truly remarkable, and we felt like honored guests in their country.
Overall, the 10 days trip through Morocco was an unforgettable adventure. The different landscapes, the challenging terrain, and the warm hospitality of the people all combined to make it a journey I will never forget. I am already planning my next trip to this beautiful country and cannot wait to experience all it has to offer again.

Changing air filter – Ducati DesertX
OK, we all know Ducati made awesome bikes and DesertX is one of them. And the bike has quite great success. have and I’m in love, the bike is amazing and can be handled with ease.
So when the bike was announced, the first thing I thought about was where would I take this bike for adventure first? And obvious answer for me was the desert. So with one of my friends we went to 10 days trip to Morocco and to Sahara desert following the old Dakar tracks. And it was amazing.
One I returned home, the big question I had in mind was; how dose the air filter look after almost 5000km of dirt track rides?
The easiest could’ve been to take the bike to the dealer and let him change the air filter as recommended by the user maintenance book. Hell, this is a adventure bike, I should be able to do it. So I started looking on the Internet how to do it and there was a lot noise and complaining about how Ducati messed-up.
Let’s be honest, YES! it’s way too complicated that it “should” or could be; it is wey too harder than on my KTM 690 Enduro R. But is it impossible or is it that painful to do it on your own?
I needed to try it and make my opinion. So, I did it and I’m no mechanic; I do not have even a proper garage; I’m using shared parking and free parking slots.
You know what, it can be done!
I made a video showing the process, struggles, and how much dust and sand I brought back from desert ๐คฃ

[Morroco 2022] – Part 1 – An Emotional roller coaster
![[Morroco 2022] – Part 1 – An Emotional roller coaster](https://rideforadv.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/morroco-untitled-2593-1.jpg?w=1000)
A 10-day adventure in another country has to be prepared. Our preparation, it consisted in fitting a hitch for the trailer. And that’s almost all.
The big difference with the Icelandic trip is that we did it:
– At the last minute
– To improvise as much as possible
– And to leave as light as possible, and frankly, we should have left a lot of things and taken others.Emotional roller coaster
First, I was unprepared for the emotional roller coaster I would experience. As you imagine, we went to Morroco for the adventure and will be well served. However, I wanted to do all 10 days of riding off-road. Unfortunately, I have put VERY HIGH expectations.
Morroco is changing rapidly, and the number of off-roads is reducing rapidly. There are plenty of them if you explore one specific region and always return to the same place for the night. Or if you are hard enduro and want to discover some singles or open new paths.
However, the number of off-road tracks is reducing for our Big Trails, fully loaded with equipment. Many tracks we had planned either in advance or the day before were transformed to the tarmac, worst in some cases to 4 lines roads.
This really frustrated me in the first couple of days of this trip. It was so bad that I couldn’t enjoy the time, and I have probably “missed” plenty of extraordinary moments simply because of my state of mind. This makes me think and tell that Morroco is starting to be a paradise for the average BMW GS rider. Do not get me wrong, I have nothing against BMW GS bikes or riders.
Luckily, I’m not that stupid, and as soon as I changed my expectations, I started enjoying the trip. You can add to that couple of issues we experienced, and this trip started rally to look like an adventure.
Morroco is incredible!
So, when you are in the right mood, you know what to expect and do not have issues with the bike; Morroco it’s incredible!
While we were there in Nov. 2022, there was no rain for more than 2 years. The landscape was obviously heavily impacted, but there is a significant difference between North Morroco, High Atlas, and the Sahara desert.
The landscapes it’s like something you have never seen and are changing all the time. This is visually quite amazing as the change is never tiny or straightforward. EVERYTHING changes, the landscape, the ground colours, the vegetation, and obviously the temperatures.
Small problems can become big
You need to know that Morroco has plenty of small motorcycles and mechanics. However, there are not so many big bikes owned by locals, which will create a big challenge for us.
Indeed, we went on this trip without spare inner tubes and only patches to repair them in case anything happened. What we didn’t plan is the possibility of ripping the valve. The repair kit doesn’t work in that case, and you look like a lost child.
Obviously, this happened to us in the middle of nowhere, and I needed to do more than 250km to find one.
So, you can debate the best solution, tubeless or inner-tube. Whichever you choose, you need to be prepared and almost over-prepared because the craziest can happen when you are in the middle of nowhere.
We learned that “hard” way, but to be honest, I loved that. For me, that is the adventure: facing the unexpected.

[Morocco 2022]
![[Morocco 2022]](https://rideforadv.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/morroco-untitled-2716-1.jpg?w=1000)
I started Off-Road quite recently, in July 2021, post-pandemic (if there is such a thing). And as always with me, I started extremely, I did my “initiation” Off-Road immediately with a trip to Iceland. You can check my Youtube videos
Since then I accumulated a lot of kilometres off-road, bought a second bike (KTM 690 Enduro R), and got more experience. But also more hungry for adventure.
So when the hunger for adventure is so big, and you already check โ one of the motorbike must-do destinations, what’s next? Considering some family constraints, available holidays, work ….. that allow us more or less two weeks. Now that we have the length of the trip, the destination was quite rapid to be decided.
It will be in Morocco.
Why Morocco? We all have in mind the Paris-Dakar rally, this should be one of our once-in-a-lifetime objectives. Considering the time needed to do such a trip, and the present political situation, we needed to reduce and choose the playground. And Morocco will give us an amazing and versatile landscape and more likely enrich the human experience. Morocco is huge and still has wild landscapes, rocky mountains and dunes.
However the country’s modernization is fast, and the road network is getting bigger and bigger. So there is no time to lose, this might be one of those adventures when talking about it in future can finish by being: “back in the time, it was only you and nature”.
What’s the plan?
Simply, there is no plan, it’s an adventure right ๐.
While the trip to Islande (the first big one) was done over 6 months, with precise roads/tracks we wanted to take and places to see, we finished by doing something else. AND IT WAS PERFECT. We improvised and adapted according to our mood and the conditions (weather and snow)
For Morocco, the decision about the trip was made at the end of 2021, with dates more or less settled (October/November). That was it, that was the entire plan…… until September 2021. That’s when we started thinking, we should start “organizing”.
Dates: 28th Oct/ 14th Nov. – done, scheduled, work agenda free;
How: Not many possibilities are available, so we are choosing the “fastest” one; take the ferry at Gilbartar. To do so, we will put the bike on a car trailer and drive from Paris to Malaga (1800km) as fast as possible. We will leave the car and the trailer there and take bikes to Gilbartar where we will take the ferry to Ceuta.

Morocco, plan: as mentioned, the approach is different: IMPROVISATION….. or not completely. Rather than planning everything and working on the tracks and paths, we would like to take, the approach is, in which direction we should go. We will organise our daily tracks based on the “must-see” POI we figured out worth seeing. However, we will be relying on all tracks I was able to collect to help us identify the area where offroad adventures go, but also be able to use them when necessary.
POI:
- Chefchaouen
- Parc national de Talassemtane
- Barrage El Wahda
- Moulay Idriss Zerhoun
- Barrage Idriss 1 er
- Fรจs
- Ifrane
- Cirque de Jaaffar
- Jbel Ayachi
- Agoudal
- Azilal-Cascades d’Ouzoud
- Gorges du Dadรจs
- Riviรจre de Toudgha
- Vallรฉe des roses
- Aรฏt Ben Haddou
- Oasis de Fint
- La vallรฉe du Draa
- Foum Zguid
- Tagounite
- Tizi n’ Test
- Anti-Atlas
- Merzouga, Erg Chebbi
- Figuig

And the bike?
For this trip, I’ll be using my Ducati DesertX. Reason for that is in first place emotional, I simply love that motorbike. Secondly as we are going to do a lot of km, I just feel more comfortable on it than on the KTM 690 Enduro R (even though it could be better option). This is the purpose of this bike for me, adventure riding, be able to go far and be able to manage aggressive offroad stuff with confidence. And lastly, I just wan to see this bike in this environment and follow the path of her predecessor and inspiration for design, Cagiva.

This video is all about quick preparation at D-5. While I have ordered both Off-Road and Rally kits from Ducati, they have never been delivered. So before leaving for the trip, I did a quick setup of the bike and installed a couple of missing pieces:
- Evotech Performance Garmin GPS mount
- Evotech Performance Engine Guard
- Ducabike Water Pump Protection
